Saturday May 17th
The Revolution Ride, Roll & Stroll (or The REV) is BORP’s signature fundraising event, now in its 22nd year. This annual gathering of cycling enthusiasts brings together hundreds of people, moving on all manner of wheeled conveyance, to push their limits for the glory of raising funds for BORP. Our goal is to raise $225,000 on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Volunteer at the REV!
Be a volunteer – there are over 50 important volunteer roles we need to fill, such as: being at rest stops on the route (excellent group volunteer activity); being a sweep rider; helping with registration; trail safety and signage; supporting fun times at the festival, body work, etc. Uber volunteers will take on organizing large to-dos (e.g., deploying volunteers to set up the rest stops). None of it is complicated. Volunteers are the magic ingredient to the REV’s success! Join the fun and get a free t-shirt! Email RevRide@borp.org or visit borp.ivolunteer.com for more info about volunteering at the REV.
The Revolution couldn’t happen without the help of our amazing volunteers. Volunteer shifts range from two hours up to as many as a volunteer is willing to work! All volunteers who complete at least one shift are eligible to receive a Revolution t-shirt, admission to the Festival, and the knowledge that their contribution makes a real difference to the event and to BORP. We are extremely grateful for the assistance of our volunteers!

Volunteer Positions
There are 2 general categories of volunteers: 1) folks who are out on the course supporting the ride, and 2) folks who are helping make the event flow and the festival happen.
1. Volunteers who are out on the course. Needs include:
- * Rest Stop Volunteers
- Cheer on the riders, give them water and food. Fun for a crowd of folks who want to volunteer and have a party at the same time. Rest stops offer riders a safe place to take a brief rest, grab a snack, use the restroom,
- and chat with each other. Rest stop volunteers are crucial. There are 2 rest stops, and the day is split into 2 shifts.
- * Course Flagger Volunteers
- Flaggers direct riders at critical or hazardous intersections. Your job is to ensure they have a safe and fun ride, and to cheer them on! Course volunteers must be 18 years or older. We have Flagger Locations. Flaggers work in pairs.
- * Bike Sweeps
- Are the last riders on each course, and help us to assure that we know where folks are on the route
- * SAG (Support and Gear) Vehicle drivers (need your own vehicle)
- Driving the course and responding to support requests from riders. Should have bike mechanic skills.

Donate
The Revolution Ride, Roll & Stroll is BORP’s biggest fundraiser of the year. There are a few ways to donate to the REV. Funds raised support all BORP programs. However you donate, we appreciate your support!
To support a specific person’s fundraising efforts:
If a REV participant gives you a link to their personal fundraising page, you can click that link and then the Donate button on their page to assure that your donation is credited to them.
If you don’t have or can’t find their personal page, you can use this link to go to the general donation page, and choose their name from the list of participants (team donations must be assigned to a person on the team in this system).
To give a general donation to the REV: Visit this donation page to make a donation to the event. At the bottom of the form, you will see a drop-down list of all the REV fundraising pages for you to choose from if you would like to support a specific team or person. If the donation is a general gift to the event/BORP, do not choose a name to associate your gift with.
Writing a check? Wonderful. Be sure to add “REV” to the memo line, and if you are supporting a specific person, be sure to add their name as well, “REV rider: —“
Sending an IRA QCDs (Qualified Charitable Distributions) BORP can receive QCDs (Qualified Charitable Distributions) from your IRA. Just provide this information to the institution managing your IRA: 1: The amount of your intended gift; 2: BORP’s mailing address: BORP Adaptive Sports and Recreation, 3075 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA 94703; and 3: BORP’s letter of tax-exempt status which can be downloaded HERE.
